Is The Fear of Being Alone Controlling Your Relationship

June 22nd, 2008 by yukodallal

By Teddy Shabba One of the main reasons that both men and women want to get into a relationship is a fear of being alone. Yet, any relationship that is based on fear is destined to be a very unhappy and unfulfilling relationship. Until you can learn to enjoy your own company you will constantly find yourself getting into relationships that are or end up based on fear. When you are NOT comfortable being alone, you ultimately end up giving your power to someone else and end up holding a grudge against that person because they have what you want your own personal power and control. People who are not comfortable with themselves unknowingly stop themselves from not only being the best person they can be but from experiencing deep levels of intimacy with others as well. The fear of being alone is so great that at time you will choose to stand with the crowd even when you think the crowd is wrong. How do you even begin to become comfortable with yourself? The first step is to admit that we are all broken, even though we are all capable of extraordinary things. Once you realize that you have strengths and weakness just like everyone else and acknowledge your weaknesses instead of trying to hide them. Hiding your weaknesses takes up more energy than it does to work to overcome them or learn to live with them. The only true way to be comfortable with you is to spend time alone with yourself. Once you have mastered being alone you will be on your way to great achievements and relationships in your life. How to Plan Your Big Day Successfully

June 19th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Emily Tanner You are now engaged and have finally set a date. Actually organizing a wedding is such an exciting event but it can also be quite a stressful time. So many brides are constantly thinking about their wedding dress, their bouquet colours, their bridesmaid dresses, the wedding breakfast, their wedding favours and their honeymoon so where on earth do you start!? A great place to start is by investing in a wedding book to store all your initial ideas, contact numbers and plans for the big day. This is a perfect place to record favourite dresses, appropriate websites, guest lists etc. You can also keep magazine cuttings of floral arrangements, cakes, favours etc that have taken your fancy so as to make the startings of a mood board. This is a great way of getting some of your ideas out of your head and onto paper to refer to at a later date. Now that you have some ideas on paper and have got a firmer idea of the dress you would like, you are heading towards your wedding theme. From now on, ensure that everything else complements this theme. In other words, if you are having a lavish castle wedding with a traditional bodice and full skirt gown, then thrones for seats and a string quartet is essential! When it comes to colours, you are best to go for traditional burgundies, golds, creams and ivories. Keep floral arrangements classy deep roses or soft lilies will suit this type of wedding perfectly. Ensure that favours are not too modern; stick to organza bags or boxes filled with almonds or dragees and finished with co-ordinating ribbon. Bomboniere nets would be perfect at long regal looking reception tables. Also, scatter tables with rose petals to give your reception a feeling of opulence. Perhaps you are having a modern wedding? Again, the theme will be very much determined by your choice of dress and your venue. If you are opting for a garden party type of wedding, no doubt your dress will be plain but elegant and your bridesmaids in soft pastel shades. Hydrangeas and sweet peas will look fabulous in bridal bouquets if the bridesmaids are in lavender or mint green dresses. Keep everything floral and light in this instance and you cant go wrong. You could be more adventurous when it comes to favours; go for a soft candle favour for your guests or decorate a favour box with a gentle lilac butterfly. Maintain this summer feel by giving guests strawberries and cream for dessert; perfect with champagne! Maybe you are of those many brides jetting to warmer climes to tie the knot overseas. Fast becoming a very popular way to wed, marrying abroad is a much more cost effective way of sealing your partnership. Think carefully when choosing a dress though many British made gowns are heavy and will not travel well. Ask your boutique when choosing a dress about the best type of wedding dress and ensure that your venue has a pressing service available. Dont let your groom overheat either; maybe he would be more comfortable just in a shirt rather than a full suit. Choose local flowers for your bridal bouquet and remember to choose a pair of shoes that wont sink into the sand!!! When it comes to favours, check import legislation, as some countries will not allow confectionery in. Be different and be unique when it comes to gifts for your guests. Why not go for a photo album favour? Guests can then put a picture of the happy couple in their album and treasure it always! At the end of the day, it is essential that you remember, it is your day and your choice how you want to spend it. Primarily you should be driven by your venue and gown and the rest should simply fall into place by itself. From a collection of articles from World of Wedding Favours”. Pucker Up on the Latest Lemon Law

June 15th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Earl Powers Is your car making you pucker up like you have eaten a lemon? A spoonful of sugar will not make it all better. You need to brush up on the latest lemon laws in your state. It seems you may have gotten a dud of a car, a car lemon for lack of a better term. So you can brush up on the latest lemon law or you can consult with one of probably many lemon law attorneys available in your state. Let us suppose you live in California. Research the latest lemon law California has to offer by perusing through the statutes in the state of Californias Civil Code. If that does not get you yawning, nothing will! To save yourself from the boredom of reading through all that legalese, you can also consult with some lemon law lawyers. Or, read on for a summary of these statutes to see if you have a legal leg to stand on. You will have to decide if you need to start making lemonade with that car lemon. One of the statutes of the California Civil Code states that you must make a realistic effort to have your new car fixed to conform to basic warranties from the vehicle manufacturer. There is a limit of a year and a half or 18,000 miles on the cars odometer, whichever happens first, for the problem to be rectified, before being considered a car lemon. Of course, as with anything else, there are other provisions to that rule. First, the malfunction must have been repaired two or more times without success, with the result being that the car is dangerous or unsafe to drive in a way that might cause severe injury or casualties. Or, secondly, your car is still not fixed satisfactorily after four repeated attempts by the manufacturer. Finally, another reason that your vehicle could be facing a car lemon law is if your vehicle has been out for repairs for more than a month or thirty straight days. The above information is just a sampling of the lemon law California has on the books. There is more to it than that, but is should give you a good start in understanding where you stand with your dud of a car. To be sure that you are in compliance with any CA lemon law, make sure to get some legal counsel. You will discover that you can request a refund of the purchase of the car from the manufacturer. The car manufacturer can also substitute your dud of a vehicle with a new equally comparable vehicle. They would be responsible for all the taxes and fees that go with the purchase of a new car including the costs you incurred in rental and repair fees. One thing lemon law lawyers might tell you is that if you request the manufacturer to make restitution through a new vehicle or a refund before you file any civil suit and they refuse, you may be entitled to twice the compensation from the manufacturer should a civil trial find in your favor. However, before you go through legal counsel, just save a little money and do your research on your lemon laws. Its a tough job wading through all that car lemon law stuff, so pucker up and get busy making your own lemonade from that car lemon. Eliminate Nervousness Around Women Within the Next 3 Minutes

June 7th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Scott Patterson Being nervous is your biggest obstacle to meeting and attracting women. For many guys, just talking to women makes them tongue-tied and unable to think. What’s funny is I’ve heard stories about how many “tough-guys” would rather go into combat rather then approach and engage a pretty girl in a conversation. These guys, who are the stereotype of manliness in our society, would face certain death rather then start talking to a woman. Sounds crazy, right? Even if you’re like one of these guys, you can’t let nervousness control your ability to meet women. So how do you get over it? It’s actually quite simple… To talk to women, all you have to do is TALK TO WOMEN. What do I mean by this? I mean you should strike up a conversation with every woman you encounter. This means during the course of your day, find a way to engage multiple women in conversations. Even if you’re just doing it to practice, you have to make initiating a conversation second nature. After doing this for awhile, you’ll find it’ll become much easier to approach attractive women. Eventually you’ll train yourself to be a master at initiating conversations with women. So here is what you do Right NOW, you go out and start talking to EVERY woman you encounter. If you can learn to approach women on reflex, you’ll quickly overcome your nervousness. In a way, you’re doing a trial by fire where you’re forcing yourself to overcome your fears. In my opinion, this the best way to eliminate nervousness in just a few minutes. Just remember that practice always makes perfect. So look for any opportunity to start talking to women. Want to learn 50 different ways to meet, approach and attract women? If so, take a look at Scott Patterson’s Free eBook which provides 50 tips for approaching, attracting, and dating ANY woman. Women in Religion

May 29th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Jackie Wellman During the debate in the Episcopal Church over whether or not to allow a homosexual bishop, a woman was presenting the argument against allowing a homosexual bishop. She stated that the Bible declares homosexuality to be wrong, which it does. If she really believed what the Bible said than she would have been quiet about church matters. In the New Testament the books of I Corinthians, I Timothy, and Ephesians women are told to just plain submit and do it quietly. In addition to dressing modestly they are to submit to their husbands and God. They are also to remain quiet regarding church matters. How can individuals say this is a book containing God’s divinely inspired word and then only follow sections that are convenient at the moment? Doesn’t that seem slightly off? A tad hypocritical? In fact women are blamed for the original sin. It was all Eve’s fault that Adam deceived in the first place. Women can redeem themselves by having many children and submitting. Women are evil, shameful, weak and unclean…better to be seen and not heard. June Cleaver was commiting a sin by wearing pearls. Women are directed not to wear pearls in the book of I Timothy in the Bible. Ellie Mae from “The Beverly Hillbillies” was also committing a sin by braiding her hair. The New Testament has a quotation that is commonly heard at weddings. It is in the book of I Corinthians and goes like this…”Love is patient, love is kind”… and ends with… “Love never fails”. Most people have heard it, I’m sure. The book of I Corinthians goes on to say that if a woman wants to inquire about something, she should ask her husband at home. It is shameful for a woman to speak in church. Does not sound like women are in good standing with in the religion of Christianity, does it? The Old Testament declares a woman unclean for a week after giving birth to a son and two weeks after giving birth to a daughter. Women are “impure” for 33 days after giving birth to a son and for 66 days after having a baby girl. What’s up with that? I guess boys are preferred over girls. Women are really filthy if they deliver a daughter into the world. Granted this is the Old Testament and certain forms of Christianity decided to only follow the New Testament. How can you say that only half of the Bible is worthy of following? A form of pick and choose christianity? Just the idea that women were created as an afterthought from a small piece of God’s “special creation,” makes it seem that man is superior to women. How can any woman with any self-esteem believe any of this? Why Are Some Men Unkind To Their Families?

May 26th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Eva Fry I am not talking about the abusive bully or the man with a character flaw, who possesses no compassion, is beyond feeling and has no conscience. I am talking about the frustrated man who yells at this family, makes great demands on them, seems always angry and frustrated. This unhappy man is often the product of stress. His actions are the reactions of trying to provide for his family, in an uncaring world that often demands more than he can give. He often feels that his efforts are not recognized and that there is no reward for doing his best. For a wife to live with this troubled man is very difficult. All she sees is the consequence of his unappreciated attempts to make it in the world. His frustrations and anger are often taken out on his family. Why? Because his home is the only place he can get away with it. The only place he can vent his feelings and try to get rid of some the pressure he feels. Home is the only place he hopes to be understood. For this man, an understanding wife is the best gift he can have. To be able to come home to a wife who loves him. Doesnt judge him. Accepts him even when hes unkind and allows him to vent his feelings, even when its unfair, is probably the kindest thing anyone can do for him. Some women are unable to do this and it’s understandable. The problem we have is, the frustrated man comes home from work wanting peace, a safe haven from the world and no new problems. He is up tight. His nerves are shot and little things will bug him, like seeing the kids bikes carelessly lying in the driveway. This makes him angry because it just adds to the pressure he already feels, so he yells at the kids. Or, he notices that his wife didnt do something he asked her to do. It doesnt matter that maybe she had a hard day too. He interprets this as her not caring for him, helping him, or understanding that he needs help. Exasperated he starts yelling at her too. He is at the end of his rope and believes those who should care are not considerate of him. She in turn thinks. How can he treat me that way? Why doesnt he understand what I have been through this day? Why doesnt he ever see all that I do? Why does he only see what I dont do? So she in turn gets angry back with him or punishes him in other ways. She turns herself away from him. She stops talking to him. Chooses to not do things for him, because he doesnt understand her. She feels sorry for herself and becomes depressed. Etc, Etc, Etc. There is no understanding on either side. The worst part is that when we feel abused or neglected we tend for forget the good parts of our mate. We only see the bad. We only see our partners flaws and mistakes. We tend to forget our own mistakes. We each want perfection from our mate when we are not perfect! To make an analogy: If your young son went to school and was made fun of, by the other kids, was misunderstood by the teacher, found school hard and didnt get the help he needed. He is really hurting. He comes home angry and wants to fight with his siblings, gets sent to his room, for being a brat. He feels that no one, at home, loves or understands him either and he just gets more angry and frustrated. We need to understand the cause of our loved ones actions. Every action has a cause! We very seldom take the time to fine the cause. To understand the cause and to do what we can to help eliminate or at lease understand the cause is what we should do. Instead we react to their actions, not realizing their actions are the result of a cause. We need to love them enough to understand them. To be an understanding wife, when her husband is acting out, is difficult because she tends to take his actions toward her as abuse. It is, but she fails to recognize the reasons for why he acts as he does. She needs to understand the cause. To allow him to vent when he needs to. She needs to understand what it like for a man out there in the world, The world of men working with men! Most men put great demands on each other. Most have little compassion for other men. Often, they gain great joy if they can put another man down. Even destroy him if they can. Teasing is one of the greatest joys men do to other men, usually in an unkind way. Many men have no consideration for another mans feelings. If a man can point out another mans flaw; it gives the abuser a sense of pride and makes him feel that he is better than he really is. Many men have large egos gained from stomping on other men. Most men do not build each other up, they tear each other down and are not always aware they are doing it. It is just tradition passed down from man to man. They do not give compliments, they try to embarrass and insult each other. They were often raised with unfeeling and unkind fathers or no father at all and grew up in a world of unkind men. They in turn, to survive, take on the characteristics of other flawed men because they believe this is how a man should act. They believe they must be strong. This is being masculine. This is being a man1 The other thing about a man, some women dont always understand, is how difficult it is to make a living today. There are enormous demands put on them to perform. The fear of failure or of being fired is a tremendous stress. The expectations put on men by themselves or their family members expectations, is breaking. To provide nice homes, nice cars and all the extras like music lessons etc is overwhelming to most men. To know that so much is expected of them and to know that they may not possess the abilities to live up to all those expectations is very hard on them. To be an understanding wife to this frustrated man is very difficult, but so important. To not take the actions of her husband toward her, personally, is extremely difficult. If she can try to recognize the cause and realize that she is not the reason for his actions can be very helpful to her. Because she will have a greater understanding for what is going on. If she can even learn to endure the abuse and not pass it on is the best thing she can do. To be kind, to him, when he is not being kind is the greatest gift she can give to him. Even when it seems he doesnt deserve it. It has been said, He who is most unloving, needs love the most! Most women lack this ability. They want to fight back and think Its not fair To think, Hes abusing me! I dont deserve this. Rather than being a safe haven for their man, they add to the pressure. They pay him back. They abuse in their own way. They yell back, argue or turn themselves off and quite talking to him. I am not saying women should be a door mate or accept any kind of abuse. But being able to withstand unkindness because someone is hurting inside and to not take it personal is the healthiest thing she can do for herself and for her mate. I have directed these suggestions to women but the same ideas are how men should treat their women. They should show the same kindness and understanding toward their wives. Also, I know there are many women out there trying to survive too. In our world many women are facing the same stresss as men. My thoughts can be used for both husband and wife. I offer my encouragement to you. I have discovered; after the trials come the blessings. I encourage you to give these thoughts a try. You may find that, one day, your husband or mate will say, thank you for sticking by me. Thank you for being there for me. You may also discover that your love has grown. It is possible that you marriage will become the one you always hoped for. It happened that way for me. These are things I have learned from being a wife of over 47 years. Is World’s End Near?

May 14th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Lynn Bradley The recent calamities have caused many to wonder if they are signs of the worlds end. Mother nature has been on a rampage lately. The 2004 tsunami in the Indian ocean was estimated to kill 170 to 275 thousand. Hurricanes destroyed New Orleans and other cities on the gulf coast and there was record number of hurricanes in 2005. Tornadoes and heavy snow storms seem to be getting worse. Are all of these things signs the world is coming to an end? Many think they are. Prophecy buffs point to verses in the Bible that speak of signs of the end of days. It should be pointed out, however, that people have been predicting the end of the world for years. Days are picked that they claim will be the end. None have proved true so far. The Bible does state the end is coming, and we have been living in what is called the last days since the times of the New Testament. Jesus said that only his Father knows the time he will return to take believers to heaven (MT 24:36). Most of the signs given in this chapter are about the destruction of Jerusalem in A. D. 70. The Christians remembered them and fled to the mountains when they saw the armies coming. As far as we know, none were lost. In the verses following in chapter 24, Jesus says that when he comes it will be like it was in the days of Noah. People will be eating and drinking and getting married. In Noahs days they didnt know what was happening until the flood came. They didnt believe Noah when he warned them, because they had never seen it rain. Up to this time streams came up from the ground to water the earth(GE 2:6). HE WILL COME WHEN HE IS NOT EXPECTED (MT 24:44). IT WILL NOT BE ANNOUNCED THAT THE LORD IS COMING! First Thessalonians 5:2 and Second Peter 3:10 both plainly state that JESUS WILL COME LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT. A thief does not give signs that he is coming and neither will our Lord! The recent calamities do not necessarily mean the worlds end is near. We cant rule it out either. We dont have any way of knowing when it will be. We have to keep watch as Jesus told us. It is not any thing to worry about if you are living according to Biblical instructions. It is a time to help others to know and obey the gospel so they will be ready. The Bible wasnt written to tell the future but to instruct how to live holy lives. We are to live by faith and not by sight. Second Peter 1:20 explains that no prophecy is of any private interpretation. The prophets didnt understand what they were speaking and neither can we. When New Testament verses point out they are fulfilling something predicated in the Old Testament, we know what they mean. This is the only way we can know for sure what they are about. We are told about death, and the judgement, but the times are not given. Weather comes in cycles. We have mild winters and summers and we have severe ones. Global warming may be true and it may be imagination. Our God has always taken care of this world and he will continue until he is ready to put a stop to it. Global warming will not end the world unless the Creator chooses this method to destroy it. The end will not come one minute sooner than he intends. We can be sure of that! The Lord designed and built it, and is capable of maintaining it. Permission is granted to publish this article if the resource box is left intact. Mayor Villaraigosa and the Truth About Cats and Dogs

May 4th, 2008 by yukodallal

By Charlotte Laws The earth is starting to tremble in the Los Angeles animal community because Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has refused to honor his January 2005 campaign promise to fire the General Manager of Los Angeles Animal Services Guerdon Stuckey, and this broken promise has drawn attention to a potential scandal involving a loss of $1.1 million to the city over the next three years. Even fiscally responsible Angelenos who don’t care about cats and dogs can be officially outraged. Animal advocates might have let the mayor out of the doghouse on his pledge if Stuckey had reformed the department, fostered relationships with the community and saved animal lives. But according to an October 27, 2005 L.A. CityBeat article, a poorly negotiated contract by Stuckey for a spay-neuter van “may have robbed the city of half its needed spay-neuter services” and will endanger animal lives. Due to a shortage of van operating hours combined with the high spay-neuter quota, anesthetized animals will have to be whipped on and off the operating table at great risk to their health. The District Attorney has been asked to investigate. Many animal community moderates–such as the dignified and caring former L.A. Animal Commissioner Erika Brunson–who were originally unwilling to jump on the clamorous “we want Stuckey fired” bandwagon, are now steering their own wagons through the streets picking up angry passers-by, such as the fiscally responsible crowd. The “Reasons to fire Stuckey Email Series” has been circulating for months. Reason number 61 warns the Democratic mayor–who may hope to land in the Governor’s office somedaythat animal advocates will begin cc’ing the California Republican Party with their complaints. Villaraigosa could be one misstep away from tarnishing his dapper suit with controversies much like those that haunted the Hahn administration. The mayor says he has decided not to fire Stuckey at this time because the Animal Liberation Front (ALF)a “direct action” animal rights group that has not injured a human or animal since its inception in 1972recently planted a smoke bomb at Stuckey’s apartment building, making him look like a victim. He says he will not fire an employee who is being threatened or vandalized. It is understandable that the mayor would want to protect city workers. But in an attempt to be tough on crime, Villaraigosa is being weak on his convictions. If he truly believes Stuckey should be fired, why is he allowing himself to be controlled by the Los Angeles ALF? If Villaraigosa intends to be a strong leader, he must do what he feels to be right, despite the acts of a few on the “fringe.” Democratic leaders did not turn away from unions, in spite of the fact that there were 2193 incidents of union violence against people and property in this country between 1991 and 2001, including those related to bombings, shootings and near fatal injuries. Republicans did not become pro-choice after doctors who performed abortion operations were killed. According to the National Abortion Federation, there have been 13,256 “incidents” against abortion clinics or doctors since 1977, including seven murders, 17 attempted murders, three kidnappings, and 41 bombings. The pro-life movement remains firm in its beliefs. Despite media hype that makes it seem scary, the ALF’s credo prohibits injury to humans and animals. The ALF recently took credit for sending cabs, pizzas and prostitutes to the home of an unsuspecting animal services veterinarian. Although one may disapprove of these tactics, they resemble high school pranks more than crimes. Villaraigosa’s new “ALF policy” is good news for those city employees who fear job termination. Anyone whose porch falls victim to a puff of smoke cannot be fired. At-risk employees who fail to command the attention of the ALF might be tempted to place a suspicious package on their own doorstep. The City Council has become so concerned about the ALF and the L.A. protest group called the Animal Defense League that it has approved a plan which provides taxpayer dollars for surveillance equipment at the private homes of animal services employees. With high tech cameras, these workers can weed out door-to-door salesmen and pesky in-lawsagain on the taxpayer’s dime–under the pretense that the big bad wolf, also known as the animal activist, might show up with a feral cat flyer, order them a fake cab or protest on the sidewalk with a sign. Although city workers have a right to feel safe, this measure amounts to another questionable use of limited resources for a city that had 31,000 violent crimes last year. The mayor continues to react to the “ALF threat.” He recently removed Erika Brunson from the Los Angeles Animal Commission and replaced her with surveillance expert Glenn S. Brown. The Commission, which is endorsed by the humane community, provides a compassionate and intelligent voice for the powerless victims of our public shelters: the animals The current commissionersexcept for Mr. Brown–may not be experts on installing cameras to detect fake pizza deliveries, but they are experts on how to combat the violence perpetrated against the dogs, cats and other animals that we have a responsibility to protect. If Mayor Villaraigosa fails to honor his promise to fire Mr. Stuckey and to hire a compassionate and experienced General Manager who can implement a no-kill plan and reform the department, he may find that the animal community is politically-speaking, more bite than bark. A decision to retain Stuckey is likely to become a permanent smudge on Villaraigosa’s finely tailored lapel. The animal community expects the mayor to do the right thing.
